The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued a circular introducing enhanced disclosure norms for the Total Expense Ratio (TER) charged by mutual fund schemes. Asset management companies will now be required to disclose all-in costs more prominently on scheme pages and factsheets.
The move is part of SEBI's broader effort to protect retail investors and standardise how recurring expenses are communicated. The regulator said the changes would come into effect from the start of the next financial year.
Industry participants welcomed the clarity while noting operational timelines for implementation.
